Intel Arc Graphics

A new player has entered the game

Last year, Intel announced it’s commitment to provide Arc graphics software and high-performance graphics hardware, software and services to players and creators around the world.

Arc is now a platform for visual computing. For decades we have been providing CPUs that move billions of people around the world.

Intel built the first USB 1.0 in 1996, introduced the wireless and Wi-Fi laptop industry in the early 2000s, and introduced the Thunderbolt interface ten years ago.

Together with the PC system, Intel has developed a pioneering PCI architecture that will be central to our systems and hardware chips after 25 years.

Intel built an energy-saving integrated graphics core, which is used in the most modern laptops. From UltraBook to EVO, Intel focus has always been on platform innovation, and now Intel has moved on to the next chapter by adding unique graphics to Intel Platform.

Today Intel is officially introducing the Intel Arc Graphics family to laptops. Arc A-Series products are the first special GPUs released for laptops, desktops and workspaces.

Intel now has a solid foundation for integrated graphics. Since 2019, we have focused on graphics, quadrupled game performance on these platforms.

Arc 3 is the next big step for laptops. Double the performance again, in the same thin and light shape.

The first Arc 3 laptops are already available and will be followed by the more powerful Arc 5 and Arc 7 models this summer. All Arc graphics platforms, including DirectX 12 Ultimate, have a common architecture and enhanced feature set, as well as hardware acceleration. Media and AI - Engines. Intel Arc 3 products provide our customers with the lightweight enhanced 1080 p game and industry-leading content creation.

Arc 5 and 7 provide the same advanced content creation experience with advanced graphics and computer performance. All Arc products start with the new Xᵉ High Performance Graphics Architecture, or Xᵉ HPG in short, launching for players and content creators.

Now that Intel has put in place some of the best technologies in the Xᵉ HPG, the powerful X-cores with built-in AI engines we call XMX are designed to accelerate the workload, such as the upcoming XᵉSS upgrade technology and a new media engine. Creators. Content in the future. Each Arc GPU fully supports DirectX 12 Ultimate, including hardware accelerated optical search, and Arc has direct storage capacity with 12th Gen Intel Core processor. Intel is working with gaming studios around the world to ensure that next-gen games, including Bandai Namco's Elden Ring, Bethesda Softworks Ghost Wire Tokyo and many more popular titles, are available for the Ark Forum.

The first wave of Arc 3 laptops is now available and includes the first two product offerings. The base of the A350M is designed for extremely thin designs, while the A370M is thin and lightweight for high performance. Now let's look at the performance of the A370M. These laptops play more than 60 frames per second at 1080 p. You can also see that Intel Arc 3 offers more than 90 fps for the most popular sports games that often require high refurbishment, allowing for competitive gaming on the go and being one of the most mobile designs in the industry.

All games here work on Arc 3 graphics. Intel is working with a growing number of game developers to make the most popular games as much as possible with the Ark 3 graphics experience possible. You'll get more X-Core, more fixed function optical search acceleration, more GDDR6 memory and finally more performance.

They also show the new technology designed to provide more efficient performance. This is what Intel call Super Sampling X, better known as XᵉSS. Most gaming laptops today have a 1080p display, but high refresh rates and high demand for the same high-capacity laptop chassis.

XᵉSS is Intel’s solution using the power of Arc XMX AI engines to provide high performance AI acceleration updates. Here is a preview of XᵉSS running on the Arc 7 graphics platform, sci-fi and horror RPG will be released soon. On the left, the first game is displayed in 1080p, and on the right, XᵉSS-optimized gameplay has been upgraded to 4K. Zoom in on the shield and the wall.

Notice the transparency and more details with Intel XᵉSS on the right. With Intel XᵉSS, you get a better quality gaming experience. XᵉSS will be released this summer. Supports all Arc A series products. XᵉSS will be included in more than 20 games when it launches, including the ones listed here.

This year Intel will continue to work with major gaming studios to expand our adoption of this powerful and open AI enhancement technology. Intel is excited about how AI can help players get the most out of their system, but it is not limited to gameplay. Artificial intelligence is changing the way we work, learn, play and create. From eliminating background distractions during video calls to content creation to accelerating your workflow and creating more realistic and engaging virtual worlds.

Intel has built Intel Arc XMX AI Acceleration Engines to support AI workloads now and in the future. Intel’s AI engines have 16 times more AI interface computing than traditional GPU buses, which increases performance in many productivity, gaming and creative applications.

Most of us now have personal videos of old fashioned years ago. Consider uploading these low quality videos to make them look better on today's 4K screens. Video Improved AI at Topaz Labs is an application that uses the power of Intel’s XMX AI Engine to help you do this. On the left is a grain-old family video, and on the right the same video has been upgraded to 4K. You can see how the AI denoiser and expansion engine brings that old family memory back to life.

Let's see how the power of AI works in some other scenes. In this historical video you can see the clarity and detail added to the rocket and landing gear compared to the original. Finally, in today's low-quality videos, AI-enhanced video improves the quality and detail of the scene as it enhances the original video. Intel’s XMX engines accelerate the artificial resource-intensive process efficiently, allowing you to achieve amazing results in half the time. With XXX Power, this update is only twice as big as integrated graphics. Along with Artificial Intelligence, we have incorporated advanced media processing engines into Arc products.

Intel has advanced media processing engine in Ark products. The spread has spread in recent years and has affected almost all of our lives, and the landscape is changing rapidly. To give you an idea of where the industry is heading, Intel invites Matt Frost, president of Open Media Alliance, to share his unique perspective.

- Of course, happy. Like I said, I'm Matt Frost. I am a product management director at Google and help lead a team that develops open media technologies such as AV1 video codec. I am also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Open Media Alliance. Together with AOM, we bring together a team of world leaders in online video services, tools and components. These include not only Google and Intel but also Microsoft, Apple, Netflix, Samsung, Amazon, Cisco, Tencent and Alibaba. They collaborated to develop free and open source media technologies for the web. The first technology we developed was a video codec called AV1. AV1 is a new generation of video codec that offers significant improvements to older generation technologies. We can capture and store the same quality using less than 20-30% of the same amount of data or high quality. And compared to technologies like h.264, we can offer 50-60% of these benefits. This means you can store video in a small file or store HD video at the same file size and transfer video using a small bit. So with more efficient flow.

AV1 code will be a game changer in the future of video encoding and streaming. Arc supports acceleration for a wide range of video codecs and standards, and Arc GPUs are the first in the industry to support hardware accelerated AV1 decoding and coding. Provides direct hardware support for AV1 encoding and arc graphics with up to 50x faster encoding speeds from traditional software applications. Today we are working with industry partners to support Intel Arc AV1 for many of the most popular multimedia applications, with extensive adoption expected this year. Here's a quick look at what AV1 can do for game creators. This is an example of AV1 game streaming compared to traditional H.264 game streaming using XSplit Gamecaster. This game is called Elden Ring and both streams are captured on XSplit at 5Mbps. When you stop there, you can see how clear the AV1 stream is. Look at the stone wall on the right and the bush on the front. See more details in each of these areas. Stop again and see the list here; Trees, stone walls and land. I don't think it's safe to say that everything on AV1 looks good.

Check out the lawn mower here and you will see that AV1 on the right looks like it was painted with small artifacts. Intel Arc is the world's first hardware accelerated AV1 encoding GPU to deliver smooth and high quality simultaneous Internet bandwidth.

While Arc Graphics offers the best 3D AI multimedia experiences for laptops, all mobile platform components need to work together to provide the best experience. That's why we developed Intel Deep Link, a suite of technologies supported by each arc-based mobile platform. With Dip Link, Arc GPUs work seamlessly with Intel Processor and our integrated graphics to improve gameplay, setup and streaming performance.

Provides dynamic power distribution by seamlessly distributing power across platforms to improve application performance when building and deploying computer-based applications. It also includes Hyper Compute and Hyper Compute, which provide significant enhancements to heavy AI applications.

In the previous XMX video, we saw an additional 24% performance improvement when using all the AI engines on the system. With Dip Link and Hyper Encoding capabilities, on-premises media engines work together to accelerate video encoding speeds of up to 60% per GPU.

Deep Link enhances platform performance with software, and we have invested heavily in Arc software as we do with the hardware. In the new Arc Control interface we have a dedicated team to provide zero ready drivers that you can follow. It is a one-stop shop that gives you complete control over how you work with Arc.
